two challenges available
Maximize battery performance by developing intelligent thermal pre-conditioning systems. We are looking for predictive models that anticipate driving patterns and optimize battery temperature. This includes the development of algorithms to pre-heat or pre-cool batteries for peak performance during racing or fast charging. Your solutions enhance battery efficiency and longevity and contribute to a seamless and reliable EV experience by mastering battery thermal management.
Battery thermal pre-conditioning refers to bringing the battery temperature to a pre-defined range at the time when peak motoring (e.g. on a race track) or charging power is required. The target is to develop a prediction model of the vehicle usage patterns to identify when and how to activate battery cooling or heating to achieve the pre-defined temperature range.

Cold weather significantly impacts EV charging speeds. We challenge startups to develop solutions that maintain rapid charging even in cold temperatures. Explore novel thermal design and cell chemistries or smart software to optimize power delivery. We're looking for innovations that ensure consistent and efficient charging, regardless of environmental conditions. Enhance EV reliability and usability by tackling the challenges of cold-weather charging.
Improve fast charging speed in lower environment conditions. This could include smart software or AI solutions as well as novel types for thermal systems or cell design.
